TERMS & CONDITIONS
Last updated: 21 June 2026
These Terms govern your use of Family Sweepstake (the "Service"), operated by AI Bits Ltd, a limited company registered in England & Wales (the "Company", "we", "us"). Family Sweepstake is a division of AI Bits Ltd. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
Family Sweepstake is a free tool that helps an organiser run a private sweepstake among family, friends or colleagues for the FIFA World Cup 2026. The Service handles the team draw, scoreboards, knockout bracket and Golden Boot tracking, and sends optional update emails to participants.
2. Not a gambling service
The Service does not handle money, collect entry fees or pay out prizes. Any cash pot is held and distributed by the organiser themselves, outside the Service, on a private social basis. Organisers are responsible for ensuring their sweepstake is run lawfully in their jurisdiction (in Great Britain, "private" or "work" lotteries are permitted under the Gambling Act 2005 provided certain conditions are met).
3. Accounts
- You must be at least 18 to create an organiser account.
- You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
- You're responsible for the accuracy of any information you enter, including participant emails.
- By adding a participant's email, you confirm you have permission to share it with us for this purpose.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent or commercial gambling activity.
- Add people to a sweepstake without their consent.
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer or overload the Service.
- Scrape or harvest data from the Service.
5. Email & SMS communications
We send two kinds of email: transactional (account confirmation, draw confirmation, the sweepstake link) and optional updates (round results, golden boot updates, daily fixtures). We also send optional SMS updates from a US toll-free number to participants who explicitly opt in.
- Email opt-in / opt-out: participants are added by the organiser. Email updates can be switched on or off any time from the participant's private link, or via the one-click unsubscribe link in every update email, or at familysweepstake.com/unsubscribe.
- SMS opt-in: participants opt in to SMS by entering their mobile number and ticking the SMS consent box on their private sweepstake link. SMS consent is never a condition of using the Service.
- SMS opt-out: reply STOP to any text message to unsubscribe immediately from all SMS. Reply HELP for help. You can also turn SMS off any time from your private sweepstake link.
- SMS frequency & cost: message frequency varies; typically 0–5 messages per week during the tournament. Message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- No sharing of mobile data: mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in information are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
- We may still send essential service emails (e.g. password reset, security notices) because they're required to operate the Service.
6. Free service & changes
The Service is currently provided free of charge. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, and may introduce paid features in the future. We will give reasonable notice of material changes.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, code, copy and branding, is owned by AI Bits Ltd and protected by law. You're granted a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial sweepstake.
8. Third-party data
Match fixtures, results, line-ups and scorer data are sourced from third-party providers. We do our best to keep them accurate but cannot guarantee they are error-free or instantaneous. The organiser is the final arbiter of any prize dispute.
9. Disclaimer & liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or any loss of profit, data, goodwill or sweepstake prizes arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by emailing richardc@aibits.co.uk. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
